Best salad in Calgary?

It doesn't have to be fancy. I love beet salads, but any innovative mix of fresh veggies will do.

I love Gratitude Cafe's menu, but the phone service and management are enough to deter me on occasion. Maddeningly, they always seem to be out of food. Is there another healthy, fresh alternative?

I am also a big fan of Cilantro's brie & salmon salad. It was much better when they had carmelized nuts and I think they should substitute cherries for those disgusting craisins, but all in all it is an excellent salad.

  1. I love the butter poached lobster salad at the VinRoom (it's on their lunch menu) although the portion is a little small. It was definitely a memorable salad... probably one of the best salads I've had in Calgary.

    1. I can't remember the name but I had a great salad at Cactus Club. It had everything great... chicken, avocado, candied nuts, tons of fresh vegetables, a light dressing. Very good.

      1. I had a delicious beet salad at JaroBlue this past weekend, It was $8 and much larger than I had inticipated. Infact everything we had there was just perfect that night.

2nd the JaroBlue beet salad! Definitely splurge and get it with the ash goat's cheese.

        2. Have you tried the salads at The Coup?

          1. Only take away but I like the salads at Planet Organic. Hail to the Kale and their Sweet Potato, and black bean corn(forget the exact name) salads are faves around here. Oh, and if they don't have samples out you can always ask to try before you buy.

Maple, gotta agree, Planet Organic has fantastic salads. To your list I'll add the Arame Edamame Bean Salad. You can buy them there, or pick up the ingredients at PO and make them at home.

They all taste great, some are unique, and all make you feel like you're doing your body some good.
