48 Hours in Vancouver... Where to Eat???
I will be in Vancouver at the end of December to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend. We will only be in Vancouver for 2 nights/3 days but want to make our time there memorable. I'm from NYC and a major foodie so therefore looking for some great meals. I have found lots online about some great restaurants but all seem to be really high-end (Market, Tojo, West). As much as I love a posh meal, I also love finding places that are up-and-coming, small family owned places, neighborhood favorites, etc. I would love any recommendations for delicious, fun places to eat- breakfast, lunch or dinner (or a good late night spot as we will be going to the Canucks game one night and may want to grab a late bite after). We will be staying at L'Hermitage near Robson Square (Richards and Robson) so bonus points for anything that's within walking distance.

If you want an outstanding homemade breakfast take the Canada Line Skytrain to Broadway City Hall station.
Right across the street from the station is Marulilu Cafe-no place like it.

Right downtown, my favorite restaurant is the Shanghai Bistro(1128 Alberni) for good Chinese food and a cool noodle show on some nights. And it's a short walk to Le Gavroche (1616 Alberni St.), a little French restaurant that has awesome $30 three course meals. I really like the dim sum at the Jade Dynasty on Pender St. in Chinatown. And I think it's easy to take the skytrain to Granville Island, where there is a good market and lots of good food. Or another good one south of town just a little way is Vij's or Vij's Rangoli (right next to each other) for excellent Indian food. Vij's is 1480 11th Ave.
