Must be because I just saw it on the news.
Some smaller boats may have to delay setting pots due to the weather:
SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC WILL CONTINUE TO
BRING STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS TO THE AREA. WINDS WILL INCREASE
THROUGH THE DAY...WITH GALE FORCE GUSTS EXPECTED OVER THE OUTER
WATERS LATER THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MUCH OF THE WEEKEND.
NORTHWEST SWELLS TO 13 FEET CAN ALSO BE EXPECTED TODAY THROUGH
EARLY SUNDAY OVER THE OUTER WATERS.
TODAY...N WINDS 20 TO 30 KT...INCREASING TO 25 TO 35 KT IN THE AFTERNOON.
WIND WAVES 4 TO 8 FT. NW SWELL 9 TO 11 FT AT 15 SECONDS.
..SUN...N WINDS 25 TO 35 KT. COMBINED SEAS 7 TO 15 FT DOMINANT
PERIOD 12 SECONDS.
Sort of. They can put out the traps on the 13th but they can't bring them in until after if officially becomes the 14th at midnight.
Oops, this is wrong. They can put out the traps on the 14th but not bring them in until it officially becomes the 15th after midnight. Word is that it's going to be a good season, with lots of big, meaty crabs.
