Hotel Brunch around xmas time

Coming to SF with teenagers for xmas.

1) what would be a good place for hotel buffet brunch? Top of the Mark, SFO Hyatt, Ritz, four seasons? Do they have any? Has anyone been recently and what are prices?
I love the four seasons brunch in Austin - champagne, caviar, pancakes, prime rib, sea bass, etc

2) Would the restaurants in Ferry Bldg and the wharf be open on xmas day and new year's? I assume chinatown would be open but what about other restaurants downtown?

3) Is the tonga room at the fairmont still open?

4) Like orenchi in SC for ramen - any place closer - in SF itself?

5) Besides, Dottie Tru cafe - what are other diners that would be on the must-eat list? Thanks, everyone.

The Tonga Room is still open.

Neither the Ritz nor the Four Seasons has a brunch buffet. My choices for a hotel buffet brunch would be the Palace Hotel or The Claremont Hotel in Oakland (which has a stunning panoramic view).

Ruth's suggestion of the Palace Hotel is an excellent one. The Garden Court at the Palace Hotel is one of the most beautiful public rooms in the world and the service and food are quite good. Get dressed up and make sure to get your reservation in early, as brunch during the holidays will be fully subscribed.

I splurged on the holiday brunch buffet at Top of the Mark a few years ago. Magnificent view and the food was surprisingly good (although for the price, I shouldn't have been surprised). This year's holiday menu is at http://www.intercontinentalmarkhopkin...
