L.A. Tamale Throwdown (El Sereno)

Don't pay attention to the cheesy FN derived name!
I just spent a little time at this smallish event and I was impressed. There were about five vendors selling tamales and a few others including Best Fish Taco In Ensenada. Non-food booths included several craft vendors.
Prices were reasonable - $2 -3 for tamales. To this non-expert, the tamales seemed quite freshly made. The selection wasn't quite as dramatic as the MacArthur Park festival, but one vendor offered a tamal de chile relleno (masa inside poblano chile wrapped in banana leaf) and another was sampling 'fusion' tamales including one containing crumbled bratwurst.
All in all, a nice low key event without hype.
