restaurants near Osborne and & 7th Street

We've rented a vacation condo on North 7th Street just south of Osborne. Would love your restaurant recommendations for that area! Not big beef eaters, prefer fish and chicken. Looking for smart fun hip kinds of places, no pretension! Thanks so much!

Good suggestions above. Those are places within a radius of a few miles of your location. You can also get to many more places by driving east into Arcadia and Scottsdale or by taking light rail south into Downtown or east toward Tempe and Mesa.

I'll mention one place within walking distance of your condo that should not be overlooked: Urban Beans. it's a coffee house on the west side of 7th St. just north of Osborn. It's a great place for coffee drinks, pastry, and sandwiches. It'll be a place to walk to when you want a quick boost or snack.

Also, there's a nice little restaurant cluster about 3/4 mile south of where you'll be on 7th St. between Oak and Virginia in the Coronado neighborhood. I haven't kept up with all the comings and goings there recently, but I definitely recommend America's Taco Shop for carne asada tacos, elote, (grilled corn), bean burritos. MacAlpine is fun for antique shopping and milkshakes in a retro soda fountain atmosphere. They also make an excellent black bean burger.

You are in the heart of Midtown Phoenix, leaning a bit toward downtown. There are several recent threads covering these areas. My latest meal matching your criteria was at Gallo Blanco, where I had the catch of the day, which was salmon. It was very fresh, cooked medium, and served with a nice assortment of vegetables. I also had the house salad, which was another nice assortment. The tres leaches cake was just okay. Some might find the menu limited and more suitable to breakfast or lunch.

I have listed a bunch of other options within a few miles, in no particular order. I've been to all of these places and would return. I tend to eat out more for breakfast and lunch, so, the list skews that way.
