COPPIA IN FFLD. IS GONE! / NEW OWNERS & NEW MENUE...

I went to make a resv. at Coppia the other day, and was surprised to hear that it was a new owner,
with a new menu. Have any of you "FOODIES" tried this new italian restaurant yet? and if so,
how was it? Chef Brian will really be missed. If anyone hears where he is opening/working, please
post it to this reply. Thanks!

  1. that's too bad - we really did like Coppia. Not surprised though as it was always empty when we went.

    1. I was bummed too.
I believe their shutting down was 100% the result of their location and not the food.
We fdid ound a website for the new place but it simply said "coming in November".

We went to the "new" place on Friday. Very nice. Tapas were good, seafood was good nothing negative to say! Good Luck to the new place!....Good food, try it, you won't be disappointed.
(P.S. If you here where chef Brian went from Coppia, PLEASE post it!!!!) Thanks!

        2. I actually like the French place that preceded Coppia (though Coppia was very good). Yes, the problem is the location. Being set back w/ no visibility, the only thing that appears to do well there is the sports bar. The L shaped dining area is another detraction. I hate to say it, but that is not a "fine dining" location and no matter how good the food is, they're going to have a rough slog of it. Any concept that goes in there should be more casual.
