I have 8 p reservations at Bayonna. Where would be the ideal place to have drinks and maybe a snack prior?

Depends, what type of scene are you looking for. You could really go anywhere in the quarter. There is the Carousel bar, or something more hip like Bar Tonique. French 75, Hermes Bar, Iris has a lively bar scene, to name a few.

Bombay Club was the first thing that popped into my mind

We're open. We'll be dressed business casual but don't need uppity (although not opposed to uppity if it's a unique experience).

For drinks and snacks. +1 Hermes Bar.

The Hermes Bar at Antoine's as mentioned by Charlie would be good, or the new place Sylvain on Chartres St. has appetizers and cocktails in a casual atmosphere.

The Monteleone serves complimentary hors d’oeuvres during happy hour at the Carousel Bar. Napoleon House is always fun. I would probably go to The Ritz Carlton lounge and drink. I don't like to snack before dinner in NOLA. I highly suggest French 75 Bar at Arnaud's. If you want good snacks you should go to Napoleon House.

Uuupppsss. Go to Domenica in the Roosevelt Hotel across Canal from The Ritz Carlton from 3/6 for half price pizza and drinks. Go at 5 and fill up then go to Carousel Bar for fun and free hors d'oeuvres before dinner at 8.

Go to Davenport Lounge in Ritz Carlton just a few blocks from Bayona after dinner and listen to Jeremy Davenport's jazz.

What kind of complimentary hors d'oeuvres does the Carousel bar serve? Whenever I've been there it's just been pub mix in a bowl.

I've been there many times at 5:00, which seems like it would be considered happy hour, and never been offered an hors d'oeuvre.

Carousel stopped the free hors doeuvres about 3 years ago per their bar mngr!
