Inexpensive, fun, casual date. PLEASE suggest.

I'm taking my friend out tomorrow (Thursday) night around 6PM. I'm looking downtown (lower east side, soho, tribeca, and everything lower).

I'm looking for good, but inexpensive food in a fun place for young people. Cheap drinks would be GREAT. My budget for 2 main courses as many drinks as possible would be about $80-90. All cuisines are fine, preferable not italian though. All asian good too. Something fun and exciting would be nice, I know the budget is rough.

How about Macondo? Fun Place, you can get a bunch of sharing plates, and you they have pitchers of their really fun cocktails for $28

I also second Barrio Chino as a great spot with fun drinks.

what's a "cheap drink" to you? i am fairly certain i had some decent cocktails (i'm not a fancy lady, so it was really just ketel & soda) and good eats at congee village in chinatown/LES.

How about Mercadito? Great baja tacos and a Tres Citricos margarita that'll knock your socks off. Casual, fun environment, too, and affordable.

Kuma Inn, perhaps? It's BYOB. Kind of neat in that it's on the 2nd floor, you might miss it if you didn't know it was there. Thai-Filipino small plates.

Also Back Forty has $10 cocktails and happy hour specials.
