Best mail order andouille sausage?

I can no longer find good smoked andouille sausage in my area. Have posted on my local board - no comments yet but I really don't think there will be so will have to resort to ordering. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. You can try here. I can't vouch for that specific item, but their products are really tasty

Haven't bought it online but I stop in a coupe times a year and get a few pounds for the freezer.

Best you're ever likely to eat.

I was about to suggest Best Stop---and some others---with teh caveat that you'll get killed on shipping charges. I drive a helluva lot of Best Stop andouille to friends from Texas to Alabama and they freeze it. I can't state what freight costs are but its enough for my friends to send me $ to bring it with me in bulk rather than ship it commercially.

You aren't kidding about the shipping. I checked it out and it is $36 in shipping and packing charges to Texas.

    2. Almost ordered some tonight - yes, shipping is high - along the lines of other specialty items - am going to wait a few days but I'm very tempted to just go ahead and order - tell me how good it is....... if it's good it's worth it.

The Best Stop has the best andouille going and it has the immense advantage that it does not intengrate during cooking. It is the large, dense link. Many people prefer Don's Pecialty Meat boudin and jut opt for all their goodies there but I go to Best Stop for andouille, tasso, some bousdin, stuffed tongue...then I go back down the road to Don's "new" joint" next to the Harley-Davidson shop and get some mroe boudin there. I was just over there last night eating at Fezzo's, next door.

Don's is the name I was trying to think of! We got a care package of various items sent from Don's and it was delicious!

      2. have you asked the local grocery store chain meat dept. or store managers about ordering it?

harris teeter has a good andouille (it is hot). ask about them getting some in if it is not in stock.

          1. The worlds greatest Andouille sausage is hands down Nodine's. made with pork and bacon smoked to perfection. now don't get thrown off that this sausage comes from New England. Connecticut! yes that's right in the heart of Yankee country. But one taste and you wont care where its from just how to get some more. I'm telling you its that good.
AND they have a great tasso ham as well!
