Good southern fried chicken in South Bay or Peninsula?

Hounds,

I have been craving good southern style fried chicken lately. I looked through past threads and found recommendations in SF or East Bay, plus one for Lil' Biscuit House in San Mateo and Ma Pinkie's which is closed.

Are there any good places other than Lil' Biscuit House that I can try closer to the South Bay? I am looking specifically for breaded fried chicken. I love Korean style fried chicken too but my mouth is watering thinking about crispy batter fused with skin...

Thanks so much!

Not only is Chez Panisse not famous for their fried chicken neither is it in the South Bay or the Peninsula as can be seen on the map.

    2. Bayonne in downtown San Jose/

hmm...Bayonne isn't classifc Southern fried chicken in the sense that it is breaded and fried boneless chicken breast. Not saying that it isn't good, but it all depends on what the OP is looking for.

      2. Piccadilly Catering now offers their fried chicken at lunch (used to only be during their Sunday cajun brunch). Much better than Lil Biscuit House's (in my opinion).

        1. Thanks for the recommendations, guys! I will definitely check out Bayonne.

Does Piccadilly Catering have a restaurant? I saw the menu for the Sunday Brunch but everything else seems to be for event catering. That brunch sure sounds enticing though. :)

The website is very outdated. I think they've been offering a daily weekday lunch menu (your typical Southern-style arrangement of a meat n' two sides plus drink) for a couple of years now.
