Tarrytown, NY suggestions?
taking a trip this weekend up to tarrytown and, having never been, looking for any suggestions. Open to anything really, but specifically would like to know if anyone knows of any fall festival'ish things (candy apples, cider, etc.) and then any other stand-out restaurants/bars.
thanks!

I enjoy SolMar, a Portuguese/Spanish restaurant on Main Street (perpendicular to Broadway). Their grilled octopus appetizer is terrific!

Jack & Dyl's is a terrific New American on Main Street that flies off the radar, but has been there several years and has a loyal following. Really cozy ambience, Short Ribs is their signature dish, but most menu items are excellent, I've had the Sesame Crusted Salmon, the Hangar Steak, and the Baby Back Ribs none of them did disappoint.
Great apps as well, homemade potato chips, and Crab Cakes are awesome. Highly recommended.

We ate there several years ago when they first opened, I thought it was OK back then. I mainly remember eating there because I had been to the previous two incarnations at that location (Thai and Caribbean). I did not realize that they were still open -- they've outlasted the other two by quite a bit.
