Christmas Day: Lunch in Lyon? Dinner in Paris?

I am assuming all markets and groceries will be closed?

Will anything outside of very expensive hotel restaurants be open?

Any help is appreciated of any food markets that would be open or any moderately priced restaurants...

Not necessarily, my dtreet market is usually open in the AM and the oyster shucker at the brasserie is going grest guns.

    Brasseries, local cafe/bar/eateries.

Also Ethnic places that don't celebrate Christian holidays.

The fact that Christmas is on Saturday will mean the Kosher places won't be open, either.

The market should be open in the morning but will be a mad house. And don't even think about approaching the poissonneries. All orders of oyster-opening and seafood platters will have been given at least a week before.

Thank you....is there any particular market that would most likely be open in Lyon or would they all be for an early lunch?

I will look into some Thai or Morrocan in Paris or a brasserie...I just do not want to be stuck paying ridiculous prices at a hotel restaurant on Christmas Day....thats how it is down here in new orleans at least...

If a market is open in Lyon on Christmas eve, it will be Les Halles (the covered Market near the train station). But I can't say that for sure. Try this link to the tourist office: http://www.en.lyon-france.com/page/p-...
