[Rhode Island] Any beef weiners at those 'system weiner' places?

Hey --

Girlfriend is from RI and always speaks of NY System weiners -- the problem is that i don't eat pork.

I recall reading that one or two of the places used beef dogs, anyone have any ideas? Hoping to visit soon and wanna try this RI classic.

NY System hot dogs are a 3 meat blend most of which has no idenity. Usually Veal, Pork and Beef, only stores carry complete beef dogs and are expensive there might be a couple of hip type hot dog places around but the traditional stay with you for the day are the Weiners. Weinorama is my favorite some places are terrible and I wont mention which places. I have done some consulting work for a RI hot dog company and what went into them came from some kind of animal as long as the USDA inspects it and says its fit for human consumption its ok plus the nitrates in there will kill any bacteria known to man.

My God. You could make them out of sewage sludge and toxic waste and RI'ers would still eat them. I just had 3 with the works for lunch myself.
