Really Comfy chairs for around my farmtable?

ZenFoodist Nov 8, 2010 06:49 AM

I'm not a fan of rush seats or ladderback and want something ultra comfy for lingering over those late night cheese courses. I was thinking upholstered wing chairs at the ends and some sort of rustic side chair design for the other 4 chairs. Most wing chairs are too huge, though. I need something on a smaller scale so as not to overwhelm the room.

The table is 7 feet by 3 feet.

many thanks,
lisa

Thanks so much :) For some reason the designer who is helping me to work on the project is not a fan of the Windsors for the Old World farmhouse "look" that we are trying to achieve. They are very pretty though. I am looking more for upholstered. Tricky with the sizes...

Most quality reproduction Windsors are very comfortable. If you get quality repros the seat depth and width is perfect and if you need a cushion or two, that's easily added.

Most come stained in a cherry or maple, but you can get painted. I have them and they're simple and elegant.
