Birmingham -- Best Store bought tortillas

Hi Folks,

I am a Texas transplant, and there, most grocery stores have someone making homemade tortillas on site everyday. I haven't seen that in Birmingham, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for store bought tortillas (I usually shop at Publix or Whole Foods since I live in Cahaba Heights).

  1. Click to Upload a photo (10 MB limit)
  1. Hit the Mexican markets: El Mercado either on Green Springs (plaza on the hill at the intersection with West Valley) or off Lorna Road (At Colonial, turn where the car wash it; same plaza with Iguana Grill). They both do in-house corn tortillas. Don't think they do flour, though.
I wish Chuy's would package theirs for sale, but those are some darn good flour tortillas.
I have had little success with the store-bought corn tortillas, although I do like the Milagro brand sold at the Mexican markets (I htink that's the tortilla the Taco Truck uses).
