Special dinner in Yokohama?

  • 4

My parents, my husband and I are going to be in Yokohama on Thanksgiving Day. We want to have a nice special meal, but not an American one! Since we're in Japan we'd like a special Japanese meal. Does any one have any suggestions? We are staying at the Yokohama Prince Hotel, and my mom is in a wheelchair so it has to be accessible. Am I asking too much? Haven't found much on this board besides the Ramen Museum! It's good but not quite what i had in mind! LOL!

Thanks for any advice.

  1. Where is the Yokohama Prince Hotel located? Searching online yields only the Shin-Yokohama Prince Hotel.

Well, I am really glad you replied! I double-checked and we are staying at the Royal Park hotel. We are apparently being taken to the Japanese restaurant in that hotel one night by relatives, but any idea if the Chinese restaurant might be good for a special meal? I also heard that it is connected by a mall to the Intercontinental Hotel, so perhaps something there might work as well?
      Thank you for any assistance!

Yes, that is quite far away from the Prince - good thing you checked.

You might check out Kissho, which specializes in beef shabu-shabu and tofu dishes. They have some nice-looking banquet-style menus that include lots of different dishes: http://r.gnavi.co.jp/g065304/menu8.html . Perhaps your hotel can help with the arrangements and order a set meal in advance to make things smoother once you're there.

They're located in the shopping mall next to Landmark Tower so I imagine they have wheelchair access, but it doesn't hurt to have the hotel double-check for you.
