GQQD places around the SF Marriott Marquis Hotel

Would appreciate lunch/dinner recommendations for good fresh food places within walking distances. Chinese, Vienamese, Thai, French, Italian, and Calif innovative tasty cuisine Prefer moderate priced and above, but not stuffy elegent. A bit of peace and quiet adds to the experience.

It has been two years since my last visit to SF and with the high turnover of restaurants, I like to find newer enthusiastic
chefs and tasty menu choices. I don't need a noisey bar area to distract from the food. :)

In looking over the Best 100 of SF 2010, Canteen looks like my kind of place, if it is possible to get a seat without bribing someone for theirs.

Of course, there are almost 100 places, that I would like to try in this lifetime!
