Nolet's Finest Silver Gin

Has anyone tried this?? Had some last night in Chicago. Really good. Made by the family that makes Ketel One. Has Peach and Raspberry notes. Had it in an Aviation. Outstanding!

The rose and peach notes taste/smell a little odd. Both are notoriously hard to capture as distillation products and seem to be hydrosols added afterward. It is a well crafted gin but those notes just stick out too much for me in some drinks. And yes, it is more rose-y than Hendrick's but in a rosewater added sort of way. I don't recall the raspberry as very pronounced. They were very secretive about the recipe and wouldn't tell us what was in there beside those 3 ingredients (keep in mind that many distilleries tell you everything in the gin assuming that there are educated gin drinkers out there who have botanical preferences). I forgot if we got them to admit there was juniper in there...

The Reserve is rather limited and I think they were marketing it at bars more than stores (especially with the $800 price point). I had a taste and it was good, but the story of the family making that batch by hand was most of the value at that point.

I'm deeply, deeply curious about this. I like gins that don't clobber me in the face with too much juniper. And I love all things rose, so I'm itching to try it, but I'll probably have to get it shipped to me.

How rose-y is it? More than Hendrick's?

A lot of Rose on the nose, then the fruit comes to the front. Definitely has some Juniper and a tiny bit of heat on the finish. I thought it was excellent. I had it up with a twist and also in the Aviation. Would be really good in any of the older cocktails (Fizz, Clover Club etc.) that are becoming popular again. I think it is only available in 6 or 7 states right now, according to bartender....

          That sounds delightful.

Do you know if it's stocked @ any liquor stores in Chicago?
