carne vino or raos

I'm looking for a great Italian meal and can't decide between these two restaurants, any one have any experiences at either one. I know carne vino is more of a steak place but their menu still has great other options, and raos is a classic in NY

Something worth noting concerning Rao's - it was announced last week that head chef Carla Pelligrino was leaving. Have not seen who the replacement is going to be yet.

definitely not Rao's.. That is some of the most over priced basic Italian American food out there.. Carne Vino would be the better choice or if you are going to Vegas after Dec 15 I would go to Scarpetta that is opening in the Cosmopolitan..

Thanks for the insight, I will look into Scarpetta since we are going after December.

Agree with Scarpetta - I'm from the NYC area, and we love it! The can't-miss dish is the spaghetti. They also put a stromboli in the bread basket here that is to die for. We also like the fritto misto.
