Great Middle Eastern take-out for large party

We're having a buffet party for about 100 and I would love any recommendations for middle eastern cafes in mid-wilshire or Hollywood area that would be able to cater for that size of a party. I'm thinking of a grocery/cafe type of place. I know there are lots of Armenian grocery/cafes but not sure which ones are good. Also, Persian or Lebanese would be great too. Thanks for any suggestions.

  1. There have been lots of great recommendations for Mezza in Culver City by posters that I think highly of:

    Mezza Grill
9901 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232

    1. I suggest Marouch. They've catered successfully for me before.

      Marouch Restaurant
4905 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90029, USA

      1. If you don't mind just going over the hill Carnival on Woodman is great. I have been to many parties where they have catered. I like to go and get salads myself, and the food is good.
It's not far just over Laurel Canyon. Have fun.

thanks so much for the restaurant suggestions. I love Carnival and I'm looking forward to going to Marouch, but I was hoping for an option of a grocery/cafe that was not a restaurant since unfortunately we don't have much of a budget. It's a work party that will be held at our office and considering the current economic times we have to be creative.

What is your per person budget? At least then folks on the board have a "hard" number to shoot at when trying to come up with suggestions for you.

thanks! we have a budget of about $10 per person. Hard times! That's why I thought a grocery type establishment would be best. Thanks for your help!

He does Persian food. And will cook kabob on site. Very reasonable and delicious. He is very popular in the Persian community.

Mezza's catering menu (see link above) has one vegetarian option listed for $9.99 per person and another that has chicken (IIRC) for $11.99 per person. Plus they allow you to design your own menu (that you could work with them on given your stated budget I am sure).

Just checked and for $11.99 you get:

                  # Choice of Chicken Tawook, Kafta, Beef Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma or a choice of all four.
                  # Choice of Fatoush Salad or Tabouleh or a combination of both.
                  # Choice of Hummus, Baba Ganouj, Spicy Hummus or a combination of all three.
                  # All served with pita, rice, and corresponding dips.

that's great. yes, I saw that menu and it looks like it could work. I appreciate your time and recommendation.

          2. I went to a wedding catered by Open Sesame Lebanese restaurant in Long Beach and the food was great. I don't think it's out of your budget and they make excellent food. I'm sure they would be willing to deliver the food to you if it's for that many people.

            1. I'm pretty certain that Skaf's in North Hollywood caters. They have the best baba ghannouj in LA and everything else is pretty good, too.
