Am I delusional to think there is a good NY style deli on the North Shore? Can anyone help?

  1. Try Evans in Marblehead. I havent tried a lot of his things, but the smoked fish and corned beef are amazingly good. All his stuff is from NY. Lendy's in Saugus is not too bad. Blintzes and potato pancakes arent bad. Really is a shortage up here though.. it stinks..

    1. there is not a decent new york style deli north of central park. sorry, im a boston cheerleader most of the time but in this category we got nothin'. get "charcuterie" by michael ruhlman and make it yourself, it will be better than almost anything you can find in these parts. and cheaper.

      1. Yes you are.

This is a much-discussed topic in the past. NY delis are in, well, NY. And even in NY the old-fashioned ones are disappearing with the years.
