Penrith and/or bust ?

Dear all

In Penrith for two midweek nights next week. Anyone know any decent places for evening meal rather than my getting stuck in solo business traveller hell in my hotel ?

Anything from a real ale boozer with good food to a Thai place worth trying would be a welcome rec as I do not know that part of the Lakes at all. If I am in the enviable place of having a few places to select from , which is likely to be most solo friendly ?

It's been ages since I was there, but we just asked around and got good recommendations from the locals. Many of the pubs that brew one of the ales or beer in-house may be your best bets though.
