Black's restaurant group? which one to try?

Been wanting to try both Addie's and Black's Bar and Kitchen. Geographically equal for us. Which for great food without feeling ripped off? Thanks.

  1. Regular Black's (to me) is the most "Mainstream" of the group - though I haven't been to Black Market ever (so I just can't say about it).

Addie's generally has a comfortable vibe to it, sort of like a smaller town fine dining place. We've had so much like there that we had our rehearsal dinner there.

You didn't ask, but BlackSalt is an outstanding culinary experience (in our trips there). We usually go off the specials as much as possible, and we let our server guide us. But it's more pricey, and more special. It has been probably 8 years since I've been to Black's in Bethesda, but have been fairly regularly to the other two I mentioned. It's a nice range, imo, that they offer across the "outlets". I'm sure if we lived closer we'd go much more often to both. We're in Reston, but fwiw, have an anniversary gift on our wall of a watercolor of Addie's.

    1. I go to Addie's regulary for lunch, it is a 15 dollar lunch (no booze) if that helps. Agree about Black Salt. The other thing about Black Salt is that they have an outstanding happy hour, there are usually tables if you get there before 6.

      1. Generally after I eat at Black's I think the food was fine, not outstanding, and a little overpriced for what you get.

I'd recommend the Black Market Bistro in Garrett Park, especially for brunch.
