Lafayette, IN with toddler
Heading to Lafayette tomorrow. Any suggestions on where to eat? We like all types of food. And a kids menu isn't important as they are usually full of crap like nuggets and hot dogs so we order off the adult menu for him.
Also, not food related, but any fun places for kids there?
IMHO the best place in town is the Indian buffet at Khana Khazana Indian Grill
108 Northwestern Avenue, West . I try to visit there once a month or less because I overeat every time. If you like smoked food, South Street Smokehouse just south of US 52 and State Road 26 on 26 (South Street at that point and if you cross the RR tracks, you went too far!) is a favorite of the "good and plenty" club...excellent french fries! For Chinese the Taste of China buffet on Northwestern Ave across from the PU Lambert Fieldhouse in West Lafayette has many really tastey Chinese items...I try to visit there only once a month also.
As to kid places, Columbia Park is nice....small zoo and lots of playground stuff. Happy Hallow Park on Happy Hallow in West Lafayette is a favorite of my grandsons.Without a doubt the best kid's place in the state is the Children's Museum in Indianapolis (about 55 miles southof Lafayette), where I will be with my grandsons tomorrow morning. I've never seen a better children's museum and we travel.
Let me know what you end up doing.
