Beer of the month club?

I'm thinking of getting my boyfriend a membership to a "beer of the month club" for his 34th birthday and was wondering if anybody has any experience with something like this. He is by no means a beer connoisseur, but we do enjoy picking out and trying different craft beers or microbrews for fun. I'm not necessarily looking for him to be blown away by the beers, just thought it would be a fun and different gift.

If anybody has ever done this or given it as a gift, I'd love to hear feedback. Also, the names of any clubs you can recommend would be great!

Thanks!

    Hi Sharpie321,

My wife's Aunt & Uncle enrolled us in a BOTM club for Christmas a couple of years back. The one we are in is called the "Amazing Clubs Beer Club". It could use a catchier name, but they send decent beers and we haven't had any problems with getting our deliveries. Each package is 12 bottles--a few different kinds from two different brewers. Their web address is: https://www.security-shopping-cart.co... , if you want to take a look.

    Cheers......

Did you have examples of what they've sent to you? I didn't see any on the website.

      Thanks

My husband received this as a Christmas gift a few years ago. He loved it. He is not a beer expert but like your boyfriend loves to try out crafts and microbrews. It's a great gift and one that lasts all year long.

You can always hit up the local beer store and create your own beer of the month club. Lukas Liquors in Kansas City has such a big beer selection I don't think a BOTM club could try them all in 3 years. There's a couple of beer stores in Maryland that could support a good BOTM club too, so I'm sure you can find one. That way you can actually go in and pick what you want to try out rather than letting someone else pick for you.
