SYD bush meat restaurants?
Looking for a fabulous couple of spots for some native delacacies. Last time I was here...12 years ago...went to Red Ochre Grill in Alice and then in Caines...both were fabulous. Would love more spots like this to try in SYD area. Any great recs from local foodies or in-the-know b'pkrs?

Cafe Ish's breakfast menu also has emu (prosciutto!) and crocodile; as well as damper, lemon myrtle, native berries & bush spices.
Their "croc in a rock" sandwich and "wattle macaccino" coffee are signatures.

I don't think you mean bush meat (meat from wild animals like apes and chimps) instead you mean 'bush tucker" which is the popular name for Aboriginal foods in Australia, so meats like Kangaroo, and native vegetables and herbs like Davidson Plums and Warrigal Greens, Lemon Myrtle.
Unfortuantly it is food that seems to have gone out of fashion in Sydney the two places I knew did it have both closed. There is a place called Deep Blue Bistro in Coogee that may still do it, but I can't vouch for the quality. You may still find pubs with Kangaroo steaks although they probably won't be in the centre, although Hart's Pub in the Rocks does have roo.
An good alternative is to do a bush tucker tour in the botanic gardens: http://www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/welcome_...

Deep Blue requires you to reserve in advance, if you want the "bush tucker" menu.
