ISO Decent restaurant for dinner off of 287 near Tappen Zee

Traveling from Jersey to Boston Friday evening & need to stop for dinner in the area of the Tapopen Zee Bridge. Could be either side of the river. Something reasonably priced and not italian. Prefer not to do fast food. Suggestions are very welcomed and appreicated. Thanks.

There are many restaurants in Tarrytown. We just recently ate, for the first time in a couple of years, at Caravela and had an excellent experience. They are easy to find and have parking at rear.

Also in Tarrytown on Main St., is Jack & Dyl's, which is what I call creative American, nice locally owned restaurant and reasonably priced.

On the Rockland side, Nyack has quite a few good restaurants too, Hudson House and Wasabi, if you want Japanese. A bit further off the route, in Piermont, highly recommend Freelance Cafe, they don't take reservations, but if you get there "off hours" you should be able to get in or snag a seat at the bar.

Freelance Cafe in Piermont is a very memorable experience. EXCELLENT - but difficult to get in - might be more than you are looking for - far above just decent!

on the Jersey side is the Palisades mall that has many decent choices. Stir Crazy, Fire & Ice, chains like Cheesecake Factory, TGIFridays. On the other side of the bridge is Tarrytown. If you do a search on Tarrytown there are a couple of greek places (Lefteris, Santorini). That gives you couple of ideas. Hope it helps!
