I want to rent out a restaurant for 14 people!

I would like to rent out a restaurant for 14-18 people for a special event. I realize this is a small number of people but I am hoping folks may have some recommendations. We did this last year at the location across the street from Cafe Maude but it has since closed down.

Anyone know of any good spots I could call? Thanks!

  1. Not sure what your budget is or if you want to take over the entire restaurant. Grand Cafe will rent out their place but a less expensive option would be to reserve their back room (which can be curtained off from the regular restaurant) and set a menu with them. We did that for my birthday a few years ago. Food was spectacular and everyone had a great time- i think it was around 20 people.

    1. heh. colossal cafe? :)

actually i am only partly kidding, it might be something they would do.

i would consider any small venue, including a coffee shop type place, where it would be worth their while to host a small party. . . oh wait, do you need a lq license for your special event?

      1. I have no personal experience, but I am thinking that Bon Vie on Selby rents itself out for groups. They are open for breakfast and lunch only, so evenings may be available.

You beat me to it rockyd, I have personal experience having had my groom's dinner at Bon Vie. We had a party of about 35, but it was a perfect space and the team did a great job with a great attitude.

          1. OK, so I know that my reply to every thread recently has been "Chimborazo", but...

Check it out: Chimborazo is quite small ( (30-38 seats max), and the owner is quite amenable to renting the entire place for a party. And the food is fabulous. And there's plenty of free parking.

In fact, I'm having thoughts of renting the place myself, for my next small-family gathering.
