Brief report on Sams at Louis
Had dinner here on Wednesday evening with 3 friends . Not sure what I was expecting from atmosphere, but on this articular night it seemed a bit cold and industrial -which I guess fits the space .
When I entered at 6:30, there were 3 people at the bar and 1 table occupied. It filled up within the hour. Service was efficient if not very warm. Most important - the food - 3 had the pepper burger and 1 had the coq au vin - all of which were fine. Not the greatest - but better than ok. I would have preferred my burger " not peppered" and would ask for it that way the next time. The fries were thin and crunchy - not the least bit greasy. We also had a mixed green salad with goat cheese crouton which was perfectly fresh and dressed with a light hand.
My 3 companions said they would like to come back in the summer for the view and to sit outside.
I agree it would great then, but I also like it for anytime of year if you happen to be in the area and you are traveling by car - plenty of parking , its only $12 and they validate. Can'y say that I would go out of my way to frequent it, but if you're in the area and looking to " drive right up" , it couldn't be easier !
