Cheap Lunch Very Close To Art Institute?

Afternoon All,

Can anyone suggest a cheap place for lunch that's very close to the Art Institute? As long as it isn't pizza, it can be pretty much anything.

Side note - does the Art Institute let you back in if you want to return after lunch?

Any help is appreciated!

  1. Chain-ish:

    Corner Bakery
    Cosi
    Baci
    Au Bon Pain

    My personal choice:

    Cafecito

The Oasis Cafe serves excellent middle eastern food in a utilitarian setting.

    2. La Cocina for tacos
      Cafecito for panini style sandwiches
Hot Wok/Cool Sushi for bento box.

      All are under $10

      1. Max's on Adams (between State and Wabash) for dogs, burgers, etc. Yes, on re-entry.

          1. Depending upon your group (absolutely with kids), I would have lunch in the cafeteria. While the dining room is actually very good, it is more costly. The cafeteria always worked for us when the kids were little, we even brought a picnic lunch now & then and supplemented with drinks or dessert. Yes, you can re-enter, I believe you might to keep your tickets or show proof again. Verify the procedure before you leave.

            1. Incidentally, it's not cheap, but it's worth mentioning Terzo Piano. This is the restaurant in the Art Institute's new Modern Wing, run by Tony Mantuano of Spiaggia, serving very high quality Italian food. www.terzopianochicago.com
