Whole Food meats: local supplier
A few weeks ago, a friend mentioned to me how absolutely delicious some steaks she and her boyfriend had purchased from WF Marlton were. The person at the meat counter told her it was locally raised meat. By chance, my friend and her boyfriend were out driving in a somewhat rural part of Camden County last week and saw a beat up looking meat market. Her boyfriend (a huge meat eater and very particular), went back last week to this meat market and said it was fantastic. He mentioned getting some fabulous rib eyes from WF to the butcher, who informed him 'those were my steaks, I provide WF with meat'. So, evidently they do use local sources.
The steaks were $15 per pound at WF and $8 per pound from the local supplier. I think someone brought up this market in the past, but a search on CH did not bring up anything. It appears they have a very large selection of meats and poultry. Might be worth taking a trip out to check it out... Bringhurst Meats in Berlin.
I found some ribeye steaks at McAffrey's which were from Simplin' Grazing Organic Farm that Bringhurst's website says is a customer.
I am going to pay Cherry Grove Farm a visit. About 15 minutes from where I live now.
