Looking for good Korean bbq in CT or NY

I had my first and only experience with Korean bbq at a small hole-in-the-wall in California. I have never forgotten it. The food, the flavors - AMAZING!!!! This was the kind of restaurant with the charcoal pit built into the table. That's what I'm looking for. Any recommendations?

  1. Egane Korean BBQ in Stamford unfortunately recently closed. Had great galbi. (Will be a new Mexican from butterfield 8 people)

135 Bedford St, Stamford, CT 06901

    1. Edo in Norwalk
      666 Main Ave
      Norwalk, CT 06851

      Genghis Khan
      71 E Main St
      Smithtown, NY 11787

      (631) 724-3131

Not sure if either is still open

666 Main Ave Fl 1, Norwalk, CT 06851

      1. Not sure where you're based, but I would check out the bunch of Korean BBQ places on Northern Blvd in Flushing, NY. There's an emerging Koreatown there, and several really good Korean BBQ places.

Also, check the Manhattan boards for lots of discussion on the Korean restaurants along 32nd Street. Kang Suh is a favorite.

        2. Go to Koreatown in Flushing, NY - a lot of great places (search the NY outer boroughs board).

When I can't get to Flushing, I usually go to Edo in Norwalk as it's nearby and the food is actually quite decent. There are also 2 places in/near White Plains, NY - Kang Suh and Kalbi House. However, given the time it takes me to get there with all those traffic lights in White Plains, I may as well go to Flushing.

As far as I know, Edo does not have the grills built into the tables, unless they have those tables in a different section of the restaurant that I've never been to.

Edo does do the rocket-hot stone bowls with meat, rice and veggies though, and it's pretty darn tasty. I like the spicy pork + kimchee one they have.
