2 nights in Fort Worth, single diner

Hi!
I'll be spending two nights in FW in November, in town for an interview at TCU. I'll be staying near the university, and will be renting a car. I've never been there before. I would love suggestions for local places to eat, all meals, and anywhere a married woman traveling alone could feel comfortable getting a cocktail would be great to hear about as well. I'm not a picky eater, but I have a strong aversion to chain restaurants and try to eat fresh and local whenever possible. I don't like sitting at a table for one, so I'd prefer places that allow you to eat at the bar. I'd probably bring a book, so quiet is preferable to loud. I'll be there Mon and Tues nights, so I know some places may not be open, but hopefully it won't be tough to get served. All suggestions welcome, especially with good descriptions! Thanks for the help so far, Nonna Tata sounds wonderful! Just talked to an acquaintance who lives in the area and I think I'll be dining with them one night, we'll see what their ideas are as well.

I would agree with Fuzzy's. It's a must when you're by TCU. My favorite restaurant is Reata in FW. It's a bit pricey but totally worth it. It's Texas cuisine and they have great cocktails too. It's in sundance square so it's fun to walk around after dinner too.

Kinkaids is a famous hamburger place in FW too. Makes a great burger.

As mentioned, Nonna Tata, on Magnolia is a few miles north of TCU. Magnolia is an area going through a metamorphic renovation. I think most any of the small, independent restaurants would be a fit, even if they don't have your requested bar. Not sure why King Tut didn't make the Magnolia section of the above blog, but rather was included in the Greek section. Either way, it's Greek/Egyptian on Magnolia and gets good reviews.

You didn't say your price range, but you might try Nonna Tata, 1400 Magnolia W. It is cash only and not open on Mondays. Little tiny hole in the wall, but great Italian food.
