Good food and staff at Piccolo Teatro (Sausalito)

I went to Piccolo Teatro when it was new two years ago then sort of forgot about it, but not for any bad reason. I've recently been three times to sit at the bar and watch the World Series while I ate and drank beer and wine. A sign on the wall says "new bistro menu" and it is. I've only had a few items - chili (that day's special and maybe the best chili I've ever had), linguine with clams (spicy), and a greens/pear/goat cheese salad - and they were all about as good those items could be, really good. It's a small menu for both food and (by the glass) wine, but interesting and well-chosen. The staff has been unfailingly down-home friendly, sort of like dropping in on a small private party. Instead of the busy and noisy feel of my Marin favorite Le Garage, Piccolo Teatro has been not busy, quiet, and personable. Maybe it will be busier and noisier and less personable after the Series is over, don't know, but it's worth your try to see if you like it as much as I do.
