Il Capriccio, Waltham?

  • 4

Having trouble with the search function this morning, so I'll open a new thread.

Looks like we're going to Il Capriccio next weekend-- any rec's from the menu, or general directions to go in there?

  1. Hi newhound, Il Capriccio gets mixed reviews here. But, I have eaten there twice and it's been totally exceptional each time.
And I have recommended it to a few friends, who go more often and they love everything they have ordered as well. I had halibut one time that knocked my socks off. The stuffed, fried zucchini flowers drizzled with honey, was TDF, but that is on their summer menu.

The menu changes frequently though, so I don't have any recommendations on the new Fall menu.

    1. Have been here twice - we had our 30 person rehearsal dinner there on a Friday night in September and the scouting trip before we chose the restaurant. They were super accommodating, gracious and top notch in every respect. Each member of our group was allowed to order a la carte from the menu for each course, and I only heard compliments.

The menu changes monthly, so the October is rather different from September (which is frankly pretty amazing - there are not too many restaurants in Boston that do such large revisions of the menu on a monthly basis.)

I think their homemade pastas are great - have had a linguine there that was outstanding.

They have an extensive wine list, but a lot of bargains too -

Just a classy place that I cannot recommend enough and am only sorry that it took me ten years in Boston before I got out there.

Wife's comment summarizes others' general feeling: "The food and the staff made everything feel very special."

      1. I've been here for a few business dinners. The bone in veal chop is phenominal and overall, their food a service is quite good.

        1. The Porcini Mushroom Souffle appetizer is one of the most fantastic things I have ever eaten. Get it.
