I finally had biryani from Ghareeb Nawaz today.
I have to say it's the closest thing I've had to a good Hyderabadi biryani in Toronto yet. Tons of light, fluffy rice, with a good hit of spice and two pieces of chicken on the bone for $4.50 including tax. It took me right back to a meal or two I've had in Hyderabad. My only complaint was that I wish they'd included some raw onion and lime. The Dahi chutney was nice but I'd pay extra for some Mirch ka salan to accompany it.
The botis looked great and I will have to find some excuses to drive up there and try them as well. It's about 10km round trip from my office and I think I will be making the drive quite frequently.

re: BamiaWruz
I have always liked the Hyderbadi Biryani, which I was introduced to many years ago in India, and should not be the wet Biryani usually available in Toronto, so off we went last night to 234 Markham Rd.
This is listed on the Map.
It is an empty Store, and Phone Number disconnected.
Can you tell me where they are located now?
Thanks-

we tried out Hyderabad house in scarborough, and really liked it( recommended by another chowhounder). The lamb biryani and mirchi ka saalan was really nice and we also had double ka mitha ( the oil in which they fried the bread was stale, but was not too bad|). More hyderabadi vs moghlai.
