Finding Sea Beans

I've had fresh sea bean a few times at restaurants in the bay area and in Vancouver. I love them!! No success so far in locating them to buy and cook myself. Does anyone know where to find the in San Francisco, the peninsula or the South Bay. I live on the coast, where you'd think we'd find them since they're "sea" beans....

  1. You are looking for Salicornia. When Top Chef had their Hawaiian show I thought that "Sea Beans" were seeds from plants that washed out to sea and then were deposited on beaches. Silly me.
Contact Melissan but try Bristol Farms first.

    1. Far West Fungi sometimes they have them.

Ditto Berkeley Bowl, though neither is in the requested area.

          2. I've found them on occasion at Rainbow Grocery.
