Mexican Food

I've read the entire board and no one mentioned Rubios! I thought they invented fish tacos. I have to admit I haven't even tried fish tacos anywhere else because everyone I ever talked to said theirs were the best. I live in Santee so I don't have much of a choice since we are a very small town. Anyone have an idea where else I should be trying them?

Fish tacos have always been plentiful across the border. I am not a fan of any of the fish taco places. I have to say I make the best and willing to give you my recipe...LOL!

My personal favorite fish tacos are at The Tidewater Tavern in Soloan Beach.

Filet of fish grilled over open flame stuffed in a flour tortilla with cabbage, cheese, special sauce & salsa.

Do you think they could make some grass-fed Tofu Asada with a Quinoa tortilla?

If I wasn't laughing so hard, I'd come over there and kick your ass!

Tofu Asada with a Quinoa tortilla sounds fab..

Rubio's is a true example of how a public stock offering can completely screw up a perfectly good company.

Speaks volumes about corporate America and their "values".

Hi. I live in Santee also. Nothing in town, but El Titanic, in El Cajon has good fish tacos, shrimp tacos and other Mexican seafood.

(Cross the 67 at Prospect, then right to the stop sign turn (left) onto Pepper Drive. Go straight to 2nd (it is 2nd to the right/South and Winter Gardens to the left) The SE corner, behind the Valero Fuel station.)

First, welcome to the board. Believe it or not, we do try to be helpful.

Rubios was once an interesting and enjoyable concept place. It grew, and, in my opinion, enjoyed a well-deserved strong position in our marketplace. It has since been sold, and never the same.

Best fish tacos? There has to be a thread somewhere about this. Some posters will say:

            Mariscos German
            South Beach Bar and Grill
The Truck in the Toys R us parking lot in National City

            I'm hoping you're not merely a troll...

The last item in Mr. Name's list is Mariscos El Pescador, and it stands above the others commandingly.

Not to be a nit-picker, but that truck in the Toys R Us parking lot is in Chula Vista, a bit more south than National City, on Industrial Blvd.
