Thanksgiving Weekend

I am coming to NYC for Thanksgiving weekend. I would like to avoid the hordes of tourists. Any suggestions for hidden gems in the Village or Soho?

i usually go to cowgirl with my spouse when we go out for that holiday - which is my favorite because its allamerican. iits reasonable, traditional and fun. if you want upscale try braeburn. both are in the west village.

I'm also going to be in NY for the Thanksgiving weekend. Any thoughts on the quality of food and service during a holiday?

I'm worried that the regular chefs and servers are taking the weekend off and my experience will not be on par with the food/service on a normal day.
