Spotted! Fresh Mole Poblano available at St Laurence Market

In the South Market building, lower level, the "Instant Caterer" space had banners up promoting the name of a vendor who had a sampling table - delicious home made tortilla chips, but 5 bucks for a very small bag.... also great guacamole AND plastic bags of Mole Poblano. I was in a huge rush so had no time to ask questions or even get a price, but if any Mole loving hounds are down there on Saturday perhaps you could check it out.

Plastic bags of mole poblano? What? Check a recipe. It's a thick paste that doesn't keep that well at room temp.

      It's possible it was refrigerated.

If it's that "Mad Mexican" place, then it is refrigerated (they have a little fridge on the sampling table). I've only ever tried their guacamole, but it was probably the best pre-made guac I've ever had.

No, it's a new Mexican vendor that's replaced the Mad Mexican at that booth. The Mad Mexican is now upstairs outside Scheffler's.
