Gingerbread men where to buy

b
BRACAB Oct 28, 2010 07:02 AM

I need to purchase gingerbread men or perhpas more politically correct people for a large party.

Any suggestions of tasteful and tasty cookies would be appreciated.

Soma is doing chocolate covered gingerbread woodland animals this year. They're $3 a piece and very tasty! I bought a squirrel for Nevy Jr and ended up needing to buy a second one because I ate the first one ;)

I know this is an old post but all but one of these bakeries have closed, sadly.

Anyone know where to buy nice gingerbread people?

Give Flaky Tart on Mt. Pleasant a call. If they don't have them, they will happily make them.

I just tweeted Flaky Tart, and they do have gingerbread men in the store for the holidays. Price ranges from $2.50 - $4.75.

Mad Batter Bakers. They have a stand at the One of a Kind show and a permanent location just off King West.

Mad Batter Bakers are the best!! They're also sold @ Pusateri's, which carries that brand and others.

I like soft gingerbread. The ones at Harbord Bakery are really good. Get them without the candy faces. If you are north of the City Hurst Bakery in Aurora makes really good soft ones too.

Marie's Gingerbread on Bellamy North of Lawrence. Her products are all natural, no preservatives and she also has gingerbread houses and icing at Christmas time.

Definitely Open Window Bakery - even the little kiosk one in the Bay at Eaton's Centre.

Where is this little kiosk at the Bay? I love gingerbread men and am nearby.

It's on the basement level of the Bay - you know they have a grocery store? It's opposite beddings/linens - where the take out food place is as well. There's an Open Window Bakery kiosk there and it's delish. Other side of the hallway from where they keep the Godiva chocolates, etc. Sorry that this is such a poor description :)

Queen of Tarts is well-known for their gingerbread people. I've never actually eaten one though...
