Charlotte with kids, near Carowinds?

Hi all-we'll be taking the 3 year old and 7 year old to Carowinds on Saturday to celebrate the 3 year old's finally being potty trained! (Hallelujah!) We'll get there on Friday, so I was looking for a kid friendly, and fun non chain restaurant for Friday night. The in laws are coming to, so we'll have 4 adults and 2 kids. Thanks for the help!

There's not much in the area beyond chains, however if you go down Carowinds Blvd (traveling away from I-77) until it "T's" with S. Tryon St., take a left on S. Tryon and turn into the first shopping center on your right. There is a Cuban restaurant in there called A Piece of Havana. Nice decor and great cuban and media noche sandwiches, empanadas and many other Cuban dishes. It's kid-friendly too.

Congrats on the successful potty training! :-)
