Richmond, VA rec

We are going to be in Richmond on Friday night and need a place to eat. I was thinking about Six Burner from a friend's reccomendation.

Any other suggestions that are along the same lines?

i agree with nyctripper's recs.
also restaurants that aren't doing restaurant week might be easier to get in. couscous (different i admit but awesome). balliceaux(i haven't seen them on restaurant week lists but i could be wrong).

This week is Restaurant Week so it may be tough to get in some of the nicer places. Six Burner is high on my list, as is Acacia, Comfort, and Edo's Squid.

I find Six Burner okay but no wow factor and a bit inconsistent. Edo's Squid doesn't do restaurant week, but it can be a bear on a Friday night. If you mind waiting, even with a reservation, Edo's on Friday night isn't for you.

I'm not sure who does restaurant week (I know Millie's does) but second the Comfort recommendation as well as CousCous. Also Pescado's China Street is getting a great reputation....not sure if they are participating or not.

have been to pescado's china street. forgot about it. it is quite good.
