Georgetown/Rosslyn area moderately priced non-chain restaurant for 20??

  • 5

Hello,
I am bringing a group of college students to Georgetown U and need an appropriate dinner spot that's affordable, preferably not a chain, can accommodate us all, and is walkable or a short drive from the university.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

  1. Old Glory, Old Ebbit, J. Paul's, Farmer's and Fishers and Il Canale can all accomodate you with a reservation and all are walkable from GU. Old Ebbit is a local chain, but will have something to please everyone.

Sorry, but Old Glory isn't very good, Old Ebbit is east of the White House, and J. Paul's is a chain. For college kids, I'd do something like Pizzeria Paradiso (which is much better than a typical pizza joint and which is also pretty close to the south entrance of campus.

Second that - college kids, they'll love Paradiso. Downstairs is Bierra Paridiso.

Pardon, it's not Old Ebbitt in Georgetown - it's Clydes - owned by the same company and a very similar menu to Old Ebbitt. I do like Pizzeria Paradiso, but it's rather small and crowded for a group of 20. Il Canale has an upstairs with plenty of room for a group that large and IMO the pizza is way better than Paradiso.
