I know of the links that ToothTooth put and I've past it a few times and given that it seems like you wouldn't know it was there unless you past it or were told to look and yet it has been there for quite some time... I was wondering if this was considered a hidden gem. I don't know the difference in a good steak and a great steak having only eaten at chains or from people's own grills. I'm not asking for the difference just making it clear up front, but I'm glad the menu is succinct and to the point regardless.
When my sister & brother-in-law were visiting we went to Allen and Sons. My BIL thought the area felt familiar (he used to come to Chapel Hill for business 20 years ago) so we drove down the road and saw Farm House. Sure enough, he used to eat there and remembered it as being very good. I went inside to get a menu and the aroma was wonderful. I have not had a chance to try them yet - Beefmastor Inn is closer for me if I'm looking for a really excellent steak.
I also recall a favorable review, perhaps it was Fussycouple?

I visited the FarmHouse about 4 years ago. It was decent. The atmosphere is definitely old school with the grill in the middle of the dining room. The limited menu does not give you many options but that is ok if the steaks were excellent. However, they were just so-so. I really wanted to like it to support a local, homegrown, traditional restaurant but I just could not find any reason to return.
Surprisingly, this place now has a website!
I've driven up to the dirt road to the front door of this restaurant a few times, but never felt drawn to go inside to check it out. For a shack in the middle of the woods, it seems to always have lots of expensive german cars sitting out front. Maybe because its such a novelty for the UNC set?

There's someone on the board who has been there - can't find the thread they posted in, maybe they'll come back. I seem to recall the assessment was positive.
This is a very basic steakhouse restaurant with a limited menu. They are only open four days a week (Wed-Sat), dinner only.
