Best bar to watch the World Series?

Recent San Francisco transplant here who would love to watch some baseball and have a few (too many) beers. Is a Giants fan bar too much to hope for? So far I've heard Parasol's and 45 Tchoup are my best bet, but what about some downtown spots?

Any suggestions appreciated.

  1. Just about every bar in NOLA has a TV. I would go to Lucy's on Tchoupitoulas in CBD. You can walk there from FQ. You may want to catch a cab.

    Lucy's Bar @ 701 Tchoupitoulas St., New Orleans, LA 504 - 523 - 8995.

Crescent City Brewhouse is probably the best place in the FQ to watch sports. They have plenty of TV's on second floor.

    Crescent City Brewhouse @ 527 Decatur St., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 522 - 0571.

Johnny White's is a true sports bar. Chateau Moanet Voila Bar is a sports bar. Broussard's has TV's in their bar and from time to time they have specials to eat and watch the game. Antoine's Herme's Bar has food and TV's.

    Johnny White's Sports Bar @ 720 Bourbon St., New Orleans, LA 504 - 524 - 4909.
    Chateau Moanet Voila Bar @ 300 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 581 - 2534.
    Broussard's @ 819 Conti St., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 581 - 3866.
    Antoine's @ 713 Saint Louis St., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 581 - 4422.

Call the Carousel Bar at The Monteleone I think they have TV's. It's smoke free. Coop's Place is also smoke free and has a few TV's. St. Charles Tavern is on St. Charles just W of Lee Circle. They have TV's and it's smoke free.

    Carousel Bar @ Hotel Monteleone| @ 214 Royal St., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 523 - 3341.
    Coops Place @ 1109 Decatur St., New Orleans, LA. 504 - 525 - 9053.
    St. Charles Tavern @ 1433 Saint Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 504 - 523 - 9823.

Gordon Biersch is a Brew Pub in CBD near the FQ. It's NW of The Hilton near the Convention Center and Harrah's Casino offering outstanding drinks and food for lunch and dinner. There are 5 Big Screen TV's.

    Gordon Biersch @ 200 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 552 - 2739.

For future reference the best sports bar in NOLA is Finn McCool's in Mid City. Take the Canal Street Streetcar to S Jefferson Parkway. Get off and walk 3 blocks N to Telemachus Street. Turn left by Grace Episcopal Church and walk 3 blocks to Banks Street. Finn McCool's is on the right.

    Finn McCool's Irish Pub @ 3701 Banks St., New Orleans, LA 504 - 486 - 9080.

Also for future reference. Take a cab Uptown to Cooter Brown's for another one of the best sports bar's and fine fresh oysters. Take the St. Charles Street Streetcar to S Carrollton. Get off and walk a block to your left towards the river.

    Cooter Brown's Tavern @ 509 South Carrollton Ave., New Orleans, LA 504 - 866 - 9104.

And Bruno's Tavern close to Tulane is excellent for sports and bar food.

    Bruno's Tavern @ 7538 Maple Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 861 - 7615.

I'm looking for a Giants bar/restaurant for Saturday, where have people been going? Not just looking for a place with a TV, I want a few Giants fans. Thanks.

I've been watching at home, but I saw a group of girls in Giants gear heading into the Bulldog on Magazine St. yesterday. Let's go Giants #14!
