Prepared food for Delivery to a New Mom?
A friend of mine just gave birth. I've like to send some yummy meals so the new family doesn't have to cook. Chicken pot pie. Lasagna. Chili. Stuff that can be frozen and then reheated. A fancy deli, supermarket, or catering company (with storefront) are all good options. They would need to deliver to Cambridge/Somerville. They don't need to have an online presence, I'm happy to call and speak to the store.
If I was in New York, I'd hit up Citarella, Dean and Deluca, or Zabars for the task.
Boston foodies, where do you recommend?

Also in Watertown, you could try arranging an order with Sevan Bakery http://www.sevanboston.com/
I don'l know if they deliver but do have a catering menu. The lahmejunes and savory pies would freeze nicely and those dips and salads are a good fit for the kind of quick mini-meal eating new parents do. And it's all so delicious.

Maybe Dave's Fresh Pasta in Somerville or Russo's in Watertown? Both places are independent and excellent, though I haven't had their catering, just shopped there. I don't know if they deliver, but worth asking.

http://russos.com/Formaggio Kitchen in Cambridge is a great place for food baskets, but they don't do prepared food of the sort you suggested, as far as I know -- just fantastic cheeses, charcuterie, etc.
