Fulton Valley chicken--where does it come from now?

I really liked Fulton Valley Farms chicken, but I just heard they closed the Fulton, CA plant and subcontracted the processing to some other company. Has anybody noticed a change in quality lately? And does anybody know who is doing the processing now--Tyson? Foster Farms? tks

I read that article a while back, but all it says is the plant is closing.

You might contact Santa Rosa Meat and Poultry and ask them...they are one of Fulton's major retailers/wholesalers. Last year I was checking out Fulton Valley, and had the impression that they have always subcontracted their producers.

This is old news, but I just became aware of it today wondering where I could buy Fulton Valley chickens. The website is still up, but the phones are disconnected.

According to this October 2011 article, the company was sold to a Chinese buyer who shut down operations. It might resume production in the future.

Processing had been handled by Squab Producers of California.
