Spacing of Topics
Why the additional blank line (or half line, perhaps) on the top and bottom each topic box? Boards were so easy to scan before; the additional spacing makes it a little annoying to browse.

I am guessing:
1) more white space makes the site more visually appealing to infrequent visitors
2) fewer topics per page equals more pages to load. Increasing "page loads" as a web stat is indistinguishable from increasing the number of "visitors," which is important in selling advertising.›1 Reply -

re: carswell
Oh, great. Now they've stolen another half inch from across the top of the window to add the glaring yellow Holiday Central banner, further reducing the truly useful content -- the topic listings -- visible on screen and further increasing the amount users have to scroll. Meanwhile, there's tons of empty space between the Discussion/Digest/Restaurants buttons and the Take Me to Chow buttons. Why not put the Holiday Central links there? FAIL!
